Playin the Wii

I have some SERIOUS doubts about the value of "Rockband"
on my children's brain development. I mean, is it asking too
much to include some children's songs or even primary songs?
It's pretty sad when your 4 & 7 year olds know all of the words
to "Eye of the Tiger" and "Hungry like the Wolf". What the heck?

ROCK ON!
Where did all the shirts go???? Good job leaving
yours on Haley?

America's Favorite Past time

I have loved baseball season since the very first time Colten played......10 years ago!!! It remains one of my favorites to watch, but this year things got a little crazy with three kids playing at the same time. Colten played on Queen Creek Highschool's Freshman team, Bren played softball, and Gunner played coach pitch. To top it off, Ty was on his middle school golf team at the same time!

Go Bulldogs!

Run, Gunner, Run!

Most weeks we had multiple practices and games every night. It was CRAZY!!!! Here are a few pics from the season...don't ask me where the one's went that I took of Brenlyn!?! I'm sure I'll find them and post them later :) And although it makes me look like a slacker mom, I didn't go to any of Ty's golf tourneys. They didn't even appreciate the parents being their so I supported him silently from home!

Egg Anyone??

Easter always reminds me of my sis, Karalee. Why? Because she loves springtime. She loves everything about it, in fact, she celebrates a "make-believe" birthday in April because her real birthday is in Jan. and she doesn't like winter or being cold. She loves the way the sun warms the earth and that the animals are out, and everything is blooming with life. The traditions that go along with Easter and the true meaning of the holiday are why I like it.

We do all of the norms: coloring and hiding eggs, buying new dresses, and having Easter dinner. My mom and dad started a tradition many years ago of having an egg hunt at their house. They have prize eggs and money eggs for everyone who comes. They even have an adult money egg hunt and this year the top egg had $50 in it! Seriously! You should see us hunting these eggs. My dad makes it his mission to hide them ever so sneaky, so sometimes we have to be given clues so we can find them. It's always a great time, even when we only get the $5 egg! Oh well, maybe next year!

PLAYING CATCH UP.....

Ok, some of you have brought it to my attention that I haven't been very good at adding anything new to this blog since I started it.... I know, I know, but I have made a commitment to do better, knowing that this is my family scrapbook. So my next couple of posts are going to be from the last several months of happenings in our fam. Hope you enjoy!

Summertime, summertime, sum sum, summertime!

How do I love the summer? Let me count the ways..... those of you who know me well know that I HATE being hot! Joe wonders how that is possible for someone who was born & raised in this beautiful scorching desert to hate the heat, but I do! Although, the other fabulous parts of summer now outweigh the wretched heat. Here are the Top 10 Reasons I LOVE Summertime!

1. No homework or the paperwork that comes with school!
2. No bedtime or wake up time! (we take this very literal most days)
3. Baseball season is over-I love it so much but I controls all of March, April, & May
4. Swimming-having a pool makes all the difference
5. Spending time in Mexico and at the lake
6. Going to Grandma Lunt's on Sunday nights & staying till the wee hours of the AM
7. The 4th of July in Taylor
8. Scout camp, girls camp, and EFY
9. Laying around reading books
10. Reunions! (too bad we don't have more)

It is really too bad that we only have 8 weeks to enjoy all of these wonderful things! But, while it lasts were gonna soak up every moment!
